Posted 7 Dec 2006 by Agafonov_KY Post: Many thanks to all for the response:) Unfortunately not enough time I can light crunching and I not the programmer... I the administrator After closing project Find-a-Drug it would be desirable to find the useful project with the client - server organization of issue of tasks, unfortunately such at present is not present. And only it is necessary to organize a reception of tasks by one machine in a network (server), other machines in that case do not require the Internet (receive tasks from the local server) And the second that is necessary, it is regular import - export of tasks. After realization of such opportunities the project will reduce the consumed traffic and will acquire huge amount of computer powers I shall be and to monitor this theme whenever possible further I apologize for the awful English |

Posted 2 Dec 2006 by Agafonov_KY Post: I have recently switched almost all of my machines to Rosetta@Home, reason being is that i think this project has the most potential, compared to other DC projects. However, for me personally traffic is somewhat of an issues. I can deal with downloading/uploading of units, however downloading a 9Mb core on 80 machines (720Mb in total) is a problem; especially considering the fact, that it could have easily been compressed to 1.5Mb (600Mb of traffic does make a difference to me). While I'll still continue crunching Rosetta, I would really appreciate if the developers would look into this problem, and done something about it |
