Encryption is almost a must though nowadays. You don't really want anyone on the network path to be able to just casually collect all the info you send through your network port. Not to mention that you actually download executables from BOINC projects that just directly runs on your machines.
Nonsense, it worked fine before https. The only things ever to happen to anyone's PC I've ever seen is a virus on that machine. Which AV stops. If I'm doing something I want to be private, I use a VPN, otherwise why bother? What is a hacker going to do with Boinc? Intercept and change the executable? My AV wouldn't run it. Find my Boinc password? So what?

Hi everyone, thank you all for your feedback on the issues we've been having. Thanks to these comments we were able to track down the issue, and a preliminary job has been working great.

However, I jumped the gun and looks like I made a mistake on the large batch submission. I will remove those jobs. I apologize for the error.

Fingers crossed we should have lots of (good) jobs to send out soon.

Thank you again.

Looking at the graphs and numbers, it does look like the problem has been fixed.
Instead of a couple of thousand results being returned each 24 hrs (at best), presently it's up around 25,000 per 24hrs.

Just a shame it's taken almost 3 months for the problem to be fixed.

fix_test job failures should be unrelated to any boinc issues.

Those errors are a bug on my part, that I found and I'm pretty sure I fixed. Doing another test to confirm.

Edit: I should also clarify that I cancelled all remaining fix_test jobs as soon as I noticed. Sorry about that.

Are we to abort any?

If they don't crash you can run them.

20 of 88 have crashed. But they crash quickly so don't waste much time.

I know Guys, this have been already reported to the People in Charge. But i still dont receive any Tasks for Rossetta@Home.
Im running SiDock@Home in the Meantime im not sure what causes it, or what i should do. Is there a Fix maybe to overwrite the Settings in Rossetta Directory?
Any Help will be much appreciated. I´ve posted that issue a While ago, after the Post i surprisingly received 8 new Tasks - completed them and its Silence again...

Have you tried resetting the project? Or even detaching it and adding it again fresh?

On Feb 16, I finally got the following to download. I did not do anything to cause this, but that means that as soon as the server has some tasks for me. I should get some.

(app_config.xml is one of mine.)

Jean-David, I see you're using Linux. I've just installed Linux in a virtual machine (the only way I can get CPDN tasks). How on earth do you do a simple task like editing Boinc's cc_config.xml?! It won't let me! I don't have permission to edit a file for an application I installed on my own machine! I eventually had to find a way (which everyone said oh no you'll cause a nuclear war) to log on as root. I've been doing that in Windows for 30 years, and nothing ever broke. Why is Linux such a mess?

Try to use sudo instead of logging in as root.

Been there, done that. That's a command line text editor! There's no GUI in it! UGH! I thought Linux had become GUI like Windows. I was using Windows Notepad in 1991! I want to use a basic program like Mousepad. Sorted now, I break the rules, I'm a bad boy, I always log on as root so I can do what I like WITH MY OWN PROPERTY. Just like I don't have a padlock on every single door inside my own house.

I shouldn't have to, everything should be in the menu where it belongs, this is a GUI not DOS. I'm happy running as root, screw the rules. There should be an option somewhere to just switch off all security. It's my computer, nobody else can get to it.
