Surely i can not be the first to ask about this, and so please forgive me for being boring, although there does not seem to be an explanation readily available.

I am often getting

"Message from server: (reached daily quota of 8 results)"

What on earth is the point of such a limit? I have hungry computers just desperate to be kept busy. Please can this limit be removed? I am sure that they could do a lot more useful work then.

The point is to prevent an errant host from consuming all of the WUs. The maximum is 100 per CPU per day. And this gets reduced by each returned WU in error. As good WUs are returned, the maximum is increased again.

So, when you see such a message, it is probably indicative that the host has just burned through 100+ tasks and returned them with errors. This might happen for example if an anti virus program is modifying the downloads, and thus causing signature errors.

Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense

Looking at your computer information available on the website, they all seem fine except for the Windows 2000 Advanced Server, which hasn't had a good result since at least 1st December 2014. A quick check of a few of the tasks shows they never even started, which as Mod.Sense suggests could indicate an anti-virus or firewall changing or blocking the files before they reach the system.

As it is a server computer it could also be that the System Administrator has altered the permissions for the BOINC programme so it no longer communicates correctly with the Rosetta servers (are you the system administrator or is that someone else?).

Well it has been 4 weeks and your computer is still churning through nothing but errors. It is a shame when someone posts a question and never bothers to return to see the answer.

I suggest that future readers of this thread remember that one final step in trying to resolve their problems.
