My video card is crashing its driver kernel when I do something on my computer while GPU calculation is active, so I have been resetting all my projects to not ask for GPU WUs. Rosetta has no option in project preferences for this. Everything I've found on Rosetta message boards says there are no GPU WUs for Rosetta.

So why is it that when I tell it to fetch new work, it says

It's not Rosetta, it's BOINC that is requesting tasks for your GPU. Because of the design of BOINC it is not possible to disable a device, for which the project does not have an application, so simply ignore those messages, you won't get any GPU WUs from Rosetta regardless of how often BOINC asks for them.

BTW, instead of disabling crunching on your GPU you should try to fix the driver problem, I'm sure you'll get some help for that, if you ask for it on forums of projects, where you would like to use your GPU.

Thank you for the replies. I didn't know I could do that in cc_config.

As for the driver problem, I have done a clean install of the latest version and still have the problem. Rolled back the BOINC version to one that never showed the problem, same result. It's pointing toward the card going wonky. :-

Me too not. Have to try that on my computer with ATI GPU.
