Hello everyone, im using windows 7, boin manager v7.0.28... And suddenly while my boinc was running, an empty pop-up from rosetta came up, like the screen when you activate your screensaver, but empty, with no data. It keeps poping up every 2 or 3 mins, its very annoying cause i have to close it every time. I saw no fix in options so i have my boinc closed. Any solution? whats the cause of this strange behavior? Thanks!! Sorry for bad englihs |

This is also happening at RALPH@home. There is a glitch in the Rosetta Mini 3.43 and the Rosetta Mini Beta 3.43. When that app is running nothing gets done. Here is the report I posted at RALPH@home. Posted 14 Nov 2012 2:31:51 UTC Last modified: 14 Nov 2012 2:43:57 UTC "On each of my 6 cores there was the same problem. (Two of the w/u are labeled Rosetta Mini Beta 3.43 and 4 are Rosetta Mini 3.43.) None of the other projects could run. "System Idle" was at 99%. When I suspended R@h other projects started. After suspending all the projects except R@h it took over. There is no progress indicated after 11 minutes of running on 240 minutes of estimated run time. On resuming the other w/u the R@h did not yield the floor. My final step was to suspend R@h again, so the other projects could run. After posting this I thought of one additional step - resuming the R@h. When I did the w/u from other projects continued running. I'll check what happens when one of them completes." The following was posted 14 Nov 2012 4:23:48 UTC "The 6 "other" tasks were wcgrids. 2 finished approx. 30 minutes ago, and 2 R@h tasks picked up where they had left off. Now only 4 of the 6 cores have wcgrid tasks running on them, and nothing happening on the 2 that were taken over by the R@h. I am suspending the R@h until a solution is found." When I checked BM this morning I found that the problems were also associated with w/u from Rosetta@home I should have thought of that last night and suspended Rosetta then.___________ |

Argies: there is no need to apologize for "bad english". You did very well, far better than most of us if were we trying to write in another language. Instead of closing BOINC, please consider adding another project. and keep the work going. |

Thank you guys for answers :) Here is updated information from David Baker: Nov 14, 2012 An application update to version 3.45 has been made to address a serious bug occurring on Windows 64 bit platforms. If you are running Windows 64 bit clients, please cancel existing Rosetta@home jobs that are either cached or running the older 3.43 application version. You may see a blank Rosetta@home screensaver window which you should manually exit/close. We are sorry for any inconvenience and we are updating our scripts and process to prevent this from happening again in the future. For more information about this issue you can go to this message board thread. Thank you to those that have posted on this thread and have helped to identify the root cause of this issue. Nov 14, 2012 A number of users are having issues with our screensaver application automatically running in a pop-up window. We currently are not able to reproduce this on our test machines so we are asking users to please post any information that may help us track down this bug. Please post on this message board thread specific information about the boinc client version and platform version. We are also investigating another issue that may be related to an increase in our application database size. Follow it here: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=6120 lets resume task now :D |
