I never thought I'd be learning about breakthroughs in protein structure prediction reading the message boards here-it is supposed to be the other way around! Actually, I've never heard of this work, so can't really assess it one way or another (although one would think that if there really was a major breakthrough word would spread pretty quickly). I'll let you know if I learn any more about it, and if anybody is associated with science daily perhaps they can explain how they choose what to present.

obtain the details of the patent by searching by the patent number at the
USPTO website link below:
