I have the same problem we had a few months ago - % complete stays constant and time to complete goes up 1 second each second - wasting computer time. I believe to fix this problem you suspend task in question the resume it. Have you tried this? Have a crunching good day!! |

Actually speedy, if Alan's issue is the one that comes to mind, suspend and resume doesn't resolve. You have to completely end and restart BOINC Manager. You can confirm if you are having the problem I am referring to by looking at the Windows task manager. If you go to the tasks tab and click twice on the CPU column, you should see your BOINC tasks at or near the top. The problem occurs when BOINC Manager is ticking up time, but the tasks are not actually using any CPU. So it depends upon how you have your preferences set as to exactly what should appear in the task manager normally. But, in general, you should see a task for each CPU BOINC is allowed to use, and you should see the "CPU time" shown increasing. If it's not increasing, perhaps one task is suspended and another is running. So you may see other tasks as well, but you should have the same number of tasks getting CPU, as the number of CPUs that BOINC is allowed to use. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

I should of included what you said as well. I thought that may have also been the fix. Have a crunching good day!! |

SO what is up? My PC event log says that I have reached the max for the day at 50. When I look at the PC I am using now, all I see are errors.. My Lappy A bit disconcerting as I have not seen a bunch a error WU's in a long time from Rosetta. Hi all you enthusiastic crunchers..... |

SO what is up? check your tasks report. if you errored out a bunch of tasks it will throttle your account for something like 24hrs and then send you new tasks. another user posted this awhile back: Your daily limit has been reduced because all your tasks seem to error out. Initially it is set to the maximum of 100 tasks per day per host. That should be plenty for most computers. Each failure lowers that limit. Every succes raises that limit towards the maximum of 100 tasks per day. |

Hi. Howdy, I recently had the same problem on one of my 3 machines (sometimes no work at all; sometimes only 3 or 4 tasks would download at most), while the other 2 had plenty of work coming in. I tried several things (that didn't help), but I figured that something was corrupted in my Boinc Manager, so I ended up uninstalling my Boinc Manager and deleting the Boinc folder (not sure where this is in your Linux, but in Windows it's in 'Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Boinc'). Then I installed a new Boinc Manager (from Rosetta's home page), and that took care of the problem for me; everything is working fine now. Hope that helps, Kerry |

Hi. Like i said there's no work, nothing to do with Boinc manager. Someone needs to kick the server. Database status State Approximate #results Ready to send__3 |

Hi. Hmmm, not sure what say; I think my Tasks for user shows that I've gotten over 80 new tasks from the server so far today, but maybe I'm misunderstanding something here? |

Hi. You're probably right, I've 3 (pauzed) WU's and a crazy high memory usage, 6.2GByte RAM in use, 8 GByte installed.(DDR3-1600) This host, also crunching Einstein, LHC and MalariaControl. HT= ON. Knights Who Say Ni N! |

Hopefully it won't be long before new WUs come through, but at times like these it's worth tweaking "Rosetta@home preferences" available from "Your preferences" in Boinc Manager & increasing "Target CPU run time" from 3 hours if you can, both to extend the remaining work you have & to reduce the demand of new WUs when they come back on stream, easing the workload on the servers and ensuring everyone gets back running a little quicker. |

Hi. Yes; I see now that you're right. I was getting lots of work today (it's still Nov. 27 here as I write this) up until 23:15UTC, but now I'm starting to see the 'No work sent' messages on my machines also. |

Good idea; I've just set mine to 6 hrs. |

pfft, just more lack of communication and action by R@H team. total work units queued goose egg 0. in the news section any info? no - why should there be this is not news. news here on the boards? no - same reason, this is not news. this project is going to get downgraded in priority on my system pretty soon. it was the first project i started with. i get better results for news from poem@home and einstein and milkyway. |

pfft, just more lack of communication and action by R@H team. True. Once they get their GPU app stable, and if rosetta doesn't fix it's communication issues, I'll switch to POEM. |

pfft, just more lack of communication and action by R@H team. You're right, no news, just the same old same old... I have given up on taking Rosetta@Home serious earlier this year, I honestly doubt that this project's attitude will ever change... Ralf |

Sorry about the empty queue. It certainly wasn't a planned outage. As many of you are probably aware, this was the Thanksgiving weekend in the U.S., so I imagine that many of the people who submit jobs to the queue were in a food coma rather than monitoring the server. That said, we should have *something* to send out by the end of the day today. Thanks for your patience. |

Probably goes without saying but work came back on stream about 90 minutes after the last post. Desktop happily made it through but a cock-up by me meant I only lost 20 minutes on the laptop, but allowed a bunch of WCG WUs to get downloaded before grabbing from Rosetta again. My mistake but I built up some debt to WCG so best to clear it. No harm done. |

Maybe I'm blind, stupid or both, but I don't see anything labeled "BOINC Preferences" in my BOINC Manager 6.12.34. |
