I am currently running 2 WU's at the time but would like to run more. Is it possible to have more than 2 WU's uploaded for processing by the system?

You can download more then 2, but they will only run one per available CPU at a time. If more then one per CPU were attempted they just butt heads and step on each other. The work does not get done any faster because they are already so CPU dependent.

You tell BOINC that you want to keep more work on-hand via the preferences for network activity, either via the website, or on each machine. It is a little cryptic. Look for the setting about "connect every ___ days". If you set it to 2 or 3 days, then the BOINC Manager will try to request and maintain a cushion of that much work. This can be helpful to keep crunching during any short project outages or local problems with your ISP. I think the default is 0.1 days (i.e. every 2.4 hours as work is needed).

Thank you very much for your reply. I now have a better understanding of the process.
