sheduler request gave error -182
whatever this means.
Happened on 1 networked pc with Win xp SP2.
Another one works without problems.

If this question has been asked before - sorry , i wasn't able to find it.

Additional no communication to the project seems possible from this machine. Would be nice to know why.

thank you in advance

Christian

as you can see - standard web, ftp and another client ( FaD ) working fine over this connection. Hmm , don't know what the client wishes to be different from the standard... ( W2k Pro accsess Machine , this is W XP SP2 ( the problem ) and the one without any probs is a W2K Standard Server System )

thanks for the quick response

Chris

Do you have a firewall turned on? Check the access rights. Do you run another Boinc project and the same problem?

no firewall switched on. Why access rights ? Access to the internet works fine.
I don't want to run another Boinc project yet. Later may be.

I rebooted after scolling some meters up the message window to the boinc start where i found one communication was ok .
So i rebooted again - one first communication worked .
but the next attempt did not - just as before ...

So what is not working ? No idea...

Does anybody has a clue about it ?

Just doing this post from the pc with the connection probs . No proxy directly accessable ( is there a possibility to find out more ? )- proxy settings are coming via isp by activating the broadband connection - but the connection pc is another pc with w2k pro running 24/7 with automatic reconnect.

i just thought it would be best to try first to call the isp support to find out if i did something wrong which XP can't get right but w2k does...

thank you for your help in pointing in the possible direction. I am still not very familiar with xp specialties maybe because xp is only a " Quasi - Standard " but even not compatible with other MS stuff. I will report back weather i can solve it or not

Thank you for the hints pointing in the ( finally ) right direction.

implemented Hardwarepacketfilter ( nf4 ultra chipset )!!! by default active ... the first level of the 3 - level mainboard firewall - the next i did not install yet - so i thought there is no thing i do not know yet ... It was the active armor from Epox which produced such strange errors.
