I noticed that my Linux box seems to get more of a random selection of WUs compared to my Windows machines.

Are there specific Linux-only WU's or can every WU be run on any OS?

The pool of available tasks is available to all platforms, so you must have just caught a chunk from a freshly created batch or something. ...but some tasks run in a way that will require more memory and so they are only sent to hosts with more then the minimum required memory.
