Hey Byron, everybody. Once SETI@home goes into hibernation, Rosetta will be the main project for my computers thanks to one of its team leader's TED talk here. See ya around, PAR |

Hi all, I just joined Carl Sagan teams under rosseta@home & folding@home to fight against covid-19. Nice to meet you all again, Iulian |

Hey Byron, everybody. Hello, Pierre, Nastasache, Iulian and hello everyone! when the work runs out SETI@home maybe we could have more crunchers for Rosetta @ home - team Carl Carl Sagan ? :) Best Wishes Byron. |

Hi all, I have put as many computers onto Rosseta@home & Folding@home that will do the WUs, some though will not, my i3,4 core, 6gb ram laptop will only do Rosseta mini, for some reason it just gives "computation error" on Rosseta 4.07. I will be staying on this set up for the foreseeable future, I think its going to be a long haul until a vaccine is found. All the best to all. |

Welcome here, comrade ^^ R@h crunchers have been busy in Number crunching discussing problems with the various versions (3.73, 3.78, 4.1) available. R@h WUs are known to be hungry memory-wise (much more than SETI@home were). As I too have some older, low RAM laptops, I'm glad to learn there are R@h mini versions to save the day ^^ Hi all, |

Pierre, Nastasache, Iulian and hello everyone! when the work runs out SETI@home maybe we could have more crunchers for Rosetta @ home - team Carl Carl Sagan ? :)Hey Byron, Seems SETI@home users (or not) heard your message (see graph below :) Have you sent an email to all our team members (along with a copy on a Carl Sagan forum) ? That's a growth curve we don't want to flatten ^^ On R@h users stats |

Hi Pierre, The problem is R@H won't let you choose to do "R@h mini versions" alone, it downloads all versions, this just generates "computational error" in ALL wu except "R@h mini versions" , only way is too keep downloading until you get a load off "R@h mini versions" and then abort all other wu!. I think it will also help if you go to "Preference" and set wu time to 6hrs on the older computer this seems to encourage more "R@h mini versions" to download. R@H know off this problem, its been on their message boards for a long time they have done nothing to rectify this problem, a simply button on preference page asking which version you want to do would solve the problem!!!. |

Indeed, my first download on a computer that just finished its last SETI@home batch contained much stuff and I don't see how they could be crunched within the allocated timeframe ! Will implement your suggestions to be more selective and to (attempt to) restrict downloads to these mini versions... Thanks for the tips, much appreciated ^^ Hi Pierre, The problem is R@H won't let you choose to do "R@h mini versions" alone, it downloads all versions, this just generates "computational error" in ALL wu except "R@h mini versions" , only way is too keep downloading until you get a load off "R@h mini versions" and then abort all other wu!.
