All my Workunits are ready after 3 Hours. I have read you can set the Time of the Workunit from 1 Hour to 1 Day. How can I do this?

ou can change your runtime preference on the website here. Click the link above this forum page labeled "[Participants]", once you have signed on, then you can change your Rosetta preferences there. Select a runtime that works for you. Just keep in mind it is a "preference" not a "directive". The Rosetta client will do what it can to comply.

The default is to shoot for a 3 hour runtime. Some tasks will take longer then that, especially on older machines, but most can complete that required first model in the 3 hours. Some tasks will complete is less time then that. This because to start another model would take you past your preference. And so they are ended a little early.

Credit goes to a different poster on this forum, who will rename nameless due to the fact I cant remember his name

I've seen this answer in the FAQ as well but I don't understand. I do not see any setting like "target workunit processing time" anywhere. Please give explicit directions.

Click the "[Participants]" link atop this webpage. Click link for "Rosetta@home preferences". Review setting labeled "Target CPU run time".

Thanks. I was assuming it would be under BIONIC settings. The user should be able to set all computing preferences like this directly through the BIONIC client. Everything else is available there. It's not logical from a user perspective. I hope this capability is added to a future BIONIC update.

The BOINC client is the same for all BOINC projects. Yet other projects do not have a target runtime setting. So such project-specific settings are not handled in the client GUI. There are other settings, used more when you have several hosts, that are configured from the project or account manager website as well.

Berkeley handles any changes to the BOINC client.
