All of my machines are failing to retrieve any new work tasks. I don't see any messages/notes. Did I miss something?

Wow, four.

I got one (1) task. It started 1 hr 15 minutes ago. Followed by a dozen requests for more, but alas, nada.

3 1/2 hours until my one (1) task finishes. I hope I get some more by then. My proteins are starting to tense up.

Server Status shows lots of stuff down ....

The front page says they are working on the SAN, but, this is ridiculous if they are still in the process.. They should, at least, post an update...

And if it's not the SAN work, they are not paying too much attention over the holiday week.. Perhaps a case of food coma....

I've just doubled my runtime to 8 hours for my remaining WUs and halved my buffer size so as not to call for so many when they finally come through that others get starved.

I have not recieved any new tasks for the last 2 days. Have rebooted. Messages say that tasks are being requested, but none are being sent to me. Hope this gets fixed soon.

That's actually been the case since before Christmas and has nothing to do with the current supply of WUs. This is another issue it seems to me.

Increasing my runtime has kept this machine in work for another day (I may increase again) but, with 3 of 5 machines completely out, typically my most stocked machine managed to grab another 13 WUs through the day. Unfortunately I'm 100 miles away from it right now and can't adjust it down.

I think I'll tweak my runtimes up again while I can. Anyone else still scraping through should do the same at this time.

You can read about the details and considerations here.

If you are already out of work, it isn't going to help at this point. But in general, I recommend you gradually ratchet your runtime up to be roughly equal to the number of hour per day your machine is running BOINC.

All the computing power that has been donated freely, going unused. I guess I'm missing the reason behind the apparent lack of urgency to fix whatever is broken.

Taking a wild guess, the search for answers that have been hidden since the beginning of all recorded time aren't going to be unduly affected because of the loss of a couple of days over Christmas and the complaining of a vocal few won't change that.

Mod.Sense: Are you in a position to confirm that no-one will be able to address this issue before Monday after the New Year? ie Jan 4th 2010? Given that nothing's changed since Xmas that's the assumption I'm now making, so I'm going to ramp up the runtime on my remaining WUs (desktop quad) to the maximum 24 hours.

This has been happening with my machines as well for the last couple of days. I ask the same question, did I miss something?

I saw the project was shut down on December 23, but I assumed it came back up successfully. Is this not the case?

It's not going to "waste" if you run multiple projects.

If you're not on multiple projects you're just a credit-obsessive, fanboy that cares only for points and not the science.

Just my opinion.
