Does RAM timings affect R@H much?

I lowered mine to 4 clocks (was on 5, which is a bit high)

It helps for most things, just dont expect too much, 2-3% is a good improvement when talking timings.

4-4-4-18 is quite loose timings, try 4-4-4-12, or 4-4-4-10, or even better if you get it even lower. Cant expect the 3 first ones to go lower than 4 without bumping up the voltage, so just try to lower tRAS. Can even try as low as 4 without going to extremes, but then you are probably looking at more voltage, depending on which chips your RAM sticks uses. With Micron DDR2 chips i always managed stable at 4-4-4-4 or 4-4-4-5 at 900MHz and above.

Atlon64 doesnt always respond much to tighter timings, you may have to look at subtimings.

I remembered discussing about RAM speed... not timings...

Yeah, I read that tRAS has to be the sum of CAS Latency and TRCD plus 2... So I'm gonna go with 12 to be safe.
My RAM specs are 5-5-5-18 @ 800MHz, but thats very loose, so I bumped the speed a bit w/o Voltage increase (my freakin' mobo doesn't have that feature)and reduced the first 3 by one...

When I set my ram to 400 mhz my timings are automatically 5-5-5-18. I know I can change it in bios because my ram is advertised at timings of 5-5-5-15 at 1066mhz(I just leave it alone), and I have seen Kingston HyperX advertised as having 4-4-4-12 here
I'm not sure that it is specific to this ram, or if anyone can try this timing with their ram at 800mhz.

I'll give mine a run at 4-4-4-12 and see how it does. Mine also runs stock 5-5-5-18 at 800mhz, but it is rated to run at 5-5-5-15 at 1066mhz, so I think I may be safe with the 4-4-4-12 settings. I have e-mailed on of the major forum help gurus over at OCZ and asked if that was safe.

Mine is advertised as 5-5-5-18-23 @ 800MHz, but I set it on 4-4-4-14-18 @ 826 Mhz.

So far so good, not a single R@H error.
