oh oh, you stood up the infernal revenue service? funny they think themselves as a service, certainly not to the people. time for their penalty clause to kick in for procrastination.

Ask Tom Daschle, former US Congressman, what happens when you try to evade the tax man! There are SEVERAL other high profile folks lately that also are in trouble with the Tax Man!!! Personally I think Obama should check out EVERY Congressperson to make sure they are legal and uptodate with their taxes!!! Seems only fair, they make the laws we ALL have to live by, yet they try to evade those same laws!!! Time to catch the cheats, the high profile ones anyway! Keep waddling dude, but don't be surprised when they come to get you. They tend to take homes, businesses and paychecks when they get angry!

true, but if you don't owe them, but they owe you, they don't seem to be too fussy about the deadline, although i'm sure they could be if they wanted. guess they keep the money a little longer and earn some extra interest. otherwise, does belgium offer tax amnesty to penguins trying to get away from their Uncle?

The L-O-N-G arm of Uncle Sam has been extending its reach farther and farther these days, so I am not sure any Country is safe anymore. North Korea may still be safe, but who would want to live there anyway! And if Uncle Sam owes YOU money, take it now!!! Do not let him keep what is rightfully yours! Every year I get a check back, this year about 3 grand, and then go out and buy something I don't need. This year I am looking at a netbook, maybe even with Linux on it!! I know I could get less back and save the money myself and even make some interest on it, but I like the enforced savings, I don't see it and can't touch it, so it doesn't get spent until I get it!

BTW greg_be lives in Belgium and is an American, he may have your answer directly.

I have no idea if the money grubbing Uncle can get you from over here or not.
I don't think they have an agreement with each other.
BUT the moment you come back home, well good ol' HS will probably have an alert on you for tax evasion (depending on the amount of course) and then they will turn you over to the IRS who will fleece you for every penny you have.

I don't pay taxes from over here, because my income is way under the reportable limit. However if I were to go above that limit I would have to declare what I made. Not sure how they check if I do or do not make that amount of money, but I am sure some computer somewhere is keeping tabs.

Your right about them being slow about returning the money, that's the same over here as well. They take their time about giving it back and like most governments they are quick to want it.

So you better oil up your flippers and find a turbo pack if your going to evade the infernal revenue suits. Otherwise sit back and wait your centuries for your refund as small as it will be.

Penguin having a little stork envy?

Buck up little one, snow cones will always be way "cooler" then pickles.

Have you been to the 'black' beaches yet? Seen anything interesting? I mean besides all the 'must see' places? And most importantly...are you sunburned yet?

This trip, staying on Oahu. Did most of the "tourist" things: Pearl Harbor, Dole Plantation, Ilani Palace, International Marketplace, Waikiki Beach, all-island bus tour, Diamond Head, and now just relaxing in a suite at Hilton Hawaiian Village. Haven't seen Paris around yet...

Sweating like a pig, but not "baked" yet (at least not by the sun, won't comment about any possible Maui Wowie!)

Heading next to San Fran area. May stop at Stanford or Cal Berkeley, and see what sort of DC things are going on there with Dr's Pande or Anderson.
