At least it is a fairly short trip, a few hours at most, not your usual across the pond trip!

Wonder what they'll think when this native NY'er calls their city "How-stun", like the famed street in Manhattan...

Good luck to M

Mikey, its lazy hospital bill personnel.
They don't think to put it English even though its going to the states.
Plus being in Brussels everything is in French first and then Dutch and English is the last thing on their mind. Brussels thinks for some reason it is French even though it is part of the Dutch speaking region. Even the shopping street clerks speak French to you first and then whatever of the other 2 languages you speak.

This is also why there has been no "official" government here in a long time now. They parliament is hopelessly split along language lines and neither side is willing to give a centimeter/inch. The "pimeminister" is an outcast so to speak and can not form a coalition from all the different political parties.
So be glad you have dumb and dumber with a touch of insane people over there.

I saw an interview with the PM of Belgium (or whatever he's called) and it was quite the most bizarre thing I'd ever heard. In the UK it was sorted out reasonably quickly. Italy is used to all manner of coalitions. Belgium seems to be a disaster zone %|

Like I said, something like 10 different parties, all with their own agenda.
Radical left, conservative right, religious theme parties, Flemish only party, French only party, the independent state party, Labor union party, white collar party and so on.
After that you have the French vs the Flemish language issue to deal with.
So you mix all that together and you get a cluster f*** to put it nicely (so mod doesn't kill the post). This along with other factors leads to a impossible impasse. The last long term prime minister managed to hold things together somehow. But when he lost/resigned it all went down hill. Then add the wall street bubble and things went south even more. So now everyone has their own agenda and no one wants to give in. That means no "official" government.

That means no "official" government.

Yet they recently had the EU presidency... go figure.

BBC replays are often limited to the UK, but if you search for HARDtalk Yves Leterme you can waste 25 minutes of your life you'll never see again by listening to the interview I mentioned...

Oh Yves in English..that might be worth watching quickly by jumping through it.
From what I gather the parliament parties don't think he is much of any good.

read this article and you will see what the sticking points are and how he can not get anyone to agree.
All he does is resign, no one will work with him. And the only good PM's are either in the EU or done. Guy Verhofstadt seemed to be a good PM but I guess after 9 years the political climate changed and his party was no longer favorable. And then comes the Yves debacle and nothing has gone forward since.

It looks like the King should just demand his resignation again and put him out to pasture! He seems to be a man that thinks he has tons of power and doesn't care what other think, nor does he always think before he says something. Quitting and then accepting the position again seems to be a common theme for him, to an outsider it seems he is on a power trip! Being a life long politician has made him jaded and too powerful and he might need to just retire and learn how to work for a living, instead of living on your taxes!

You guys are BOTH flying away, Greg you turn your pc's off when you are away? I used to do that but now just leave them on and if they have problems I just fix them when I get back. It is a big hassle setting each pc to NNT and then shutting each one down HOPING it will come back up again after I get back, I just leave them running now instead!

I just fire it back up and let it get new tasks.
I just have one pc with the quad that pengy gave me.
And for comms just have a wireless network with a box from the telephone company that splits out data, voice and digital tv.
Shutting down for saving on the electric bill, nuke and wind power is not that cheap here.
