Ok, I've begun to notice somthing quite strange with my computers. I currently have 3 running rossetta, 2 Intel processors and 1 AMD. Feel free to take a look: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/hosts_user.php?userid=9360

My question is, why is it that my "evo", P4 2ghz machine is slower than my "fuji" Celeron Mobile 1.5ghz?

Benchmarking is as follows:
Fuji (stands for Fujitsu-Simens, the maker of my laptop)
1018.3 floating point
1979.02 integer

Evo (Model design, built by compaq, or whoever owns them now)
908.18 floating point
1957.39 integer

These differences have started to show up in jobtimes, my laptop is taking about 4hrs/job, whilst my evo is taking 5. Is it the ammount of ram I have?
But if so, why would that make a difference to the benchmarking?

Isn't the celeron M based on the pentium m core? If so, it's closer to the amd archetecture (shorter pipeline) than the p4. The pentium m does more work per mhz than the p4, just like the modern amd chips.

That's right. The Celeron M is a Pentium M with half L2 cache size and some less power saving steppings.

If it's a Celeron M it has a meg of cache so it does help. Maybe you've got some power saving options on that throttles down your p4 processor since it's a laptop?

The laptops the Mobile processor, the P4 is my desktop... thanks for the information though!
