actually i was thinking of a cpu cooler such as the stuff below:

a local shop offered me this unit for 69 euro

or there are these units that are similar or more extreme: http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/cpu/035/sczp1000_detail.html

the one i linked to doesn't come with fans, just the heat-sink itself, but has the ability to accept two fans on the top of it, for you crazy oc'ers...

Fan bracket design for mounting two 120 mm fan cools mainboard.

Lmao - yeah crazy oc indeed, but it cheaper than a quad with no OC.

only 570 RAC between us....I think I will save my euro money and go for that cpu cooler I linked to. Just have to figure out which one of those models is the best and then maybe wait it out until november when my wife goes to florida for her annual disney pin adventure (long story). Then she can bring that beast back without having to pay postage and cheaper with the sorry ole greenback.
meanwhile I will just custom adjust the OC to fit the temperature and fan speed.

ya got me there, lol !!!

pulled the trigger, ordered an Asus ati-4850 gpu. gonna have to give up one of my cores on the quad-core in order to feed this thing... fortunately, it eats folding@home wu's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner...

i can't imagine spending that kind of money on a graphics card, ok it crunches like a cpu but still. It was enough just to upgrade to what I have now, let alone add a card like that. the guys at fry's were talking to me about it as well.
i was already deep enough.
