It is part of the confirmation EMail that is sent to your EMail address when you create your ID.

I've the same problem:

boinc_cmd --project_attach https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta <account key>

boinc_cmd --get_messages 0

rosetta@home 1 1201810025 Message from server: Invalid or missing account key. Visit this project's web site to get an account key.

rosetta@home 1 1201810025 Resetting project

 1 1201810025 Rescheduling CPU: exit_tasks

rosetta@home 1 1201810025 Detaching from project

It is part of the confirmation EMail that is sent to your EMail address when you create your ID.

The confirmation E-Mail doesnt contain any information about the <account key>.

It looks like this:

Welcome to Rosetta@home.

This email confirms your account with Rosetta@home:
    Project URL: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/
    User name: <Account name>
    E-mail: <E-Mail>

For further information and assistance with Rosetta@home, visit
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/

May it take some time to activate the account on the server ?

Hello Planet-Sporleder,

Being a Windows user, I'm not familiar with command lines. However I found another post which might answer your question.
Questions and Answers : Getting started : Do not get Account key for running Rosetta on Console Only

Good luck!

You just use the EMail address and password that you used to login to the website and post your messages. The format is shown in this thread.

I have the same problem.

None of the solutions proposed can help me attach my boinc client to rosetta@home, neither on debian nor gentoo... Dunno what can I do to join to the project.

A command line tutorial THAT WORKS would be very interesting.

Greetings.

(Unable to join rosetta@home by now)

Does this help? Or if you have an error message, you can Google that with "boinc_cmd" and find hits on the message boards of all the BOINC projects.

Let's see, how can I get an account key? I didn't receive any email from rosetta@home.

This is the first time I'm unable to join to a project, as you can see I'm participating in another projects without any issue.

Something's wrong with rosetta@home, I presume.

Did you enter the key when you attached?

quoting myself: "Let's see, how can I get an account key?"

Don't care, I've tried it several times and I won't waste my time anymore.

Ya, sorry. As you can tell, I don't work with Linux... the link to the wiki seems to address your question. You use EMail address and password now as shown:
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/BoincCmd
where "URL" is https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/

For BOINC versions older than 5.10 see the instructions at the bottom of that wiki page.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but here's how I got Rosetta going on my Linux server. Hopefully others will let me know how to do it better:

1. get your account key:
#> boinccmd --lookup_account https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta email@you.com Y0urPa$$werD

2. Copy the account key and attach to the project:
#> boinccmd --project_attach boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta pasteAccountKeyHere

3. make sure it's running. Wait a few minutes for the client to update, then:
#> boinccmd --get_state

4. Make sure your processor fans are humming for the right reason.
#> top

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
9074 boinc 39 19 174m 86m 12 R 72 5.7 4:26.46 rosetta_beta_5.

Hope someone finds this is useful

The below doesn't seem to work from the command line for any project that I have an account with. I'm constantly getting the following output:

status: Success
poll status: operation in progress
poll status: operation in progress
poll status: bad password

Not to overlook the obvious, but it sounds like perhaps you used a different password when you created the user ID for the project. You can confirm the current password by using your browser here on the project webpages. Just logout and then log back in again (see the link at the upper right). And if needed, use the link for forgot password. If all else fails, you might create another user account using a different EMail address.

...you did substitute your own EMail address and password into the command string... right?
