How would I setup a netwrok using BOINC. e.g. I install the full BOINC Manager on a 'server PC', then I run my networked 'clients' from this BOINC Manager. BOINC Manager then does all the uploading/downloading and client monitoring from one place. i.e. I open Boinc Manager and it shows me what all clients are doing, how much (%) they have crunched a work unit. With the ability to stop, start and also reassign workunits in case a computer goes down |

How would I setup a netwrok using BOINC. There currently is no way you can "cache" workunits/results on a central computer. Each client computer will require access to the internet to upload/download workunits/results. There is however a nifty program that will allow you the central management features you desire. Its called BOINCVIEW and can be found on this page: Download BOINC add-on software |

Thanks Mike, will look into BOINCView Hope the BOINC people build in the networking features, make the program a bit modern. (After all 'Network' is in its name ;-) |

With BOINCView, one doesn't need to start BOINC Manager; a text/service version of BOINC will do. This will also lower memory requirement for 'client' machines. |
