Hi, this application is pretty similar to the previous one (5.73) -- thanks for continuing to post and reply to issues.

is it a beta program or is it a finished version and they forgot to take beta out of the name?

this is the second "beta" program we have run now.

As I understand it 'beta' was put into the name to distinguish it from the other rosetta application. Apparently a version number is not enough of a difference.

well that would mean that it is not a finished version as such if it is a beta.
maybe mod.sense would care to comment or rhiju?

It's the version that has undergone testing on Ralph already. So it is "beta" in name only. I'm guessing we'll see a less confusing, but different name, once the 5.68 work is completed.

Thanks for info. Any idea when the work with app 5.68 will be completated?

Yeah I was wondering why the app says Beta 5.76, Of course I'm running a 64bit version of Boinc 5.9.0 in XP x64 and the Beta app is a 32bit app too, A 64bit app would be nice of course.

Hi!

My firewall (Zonealarm) has reported rosetta_beta_5.76_windows_intelx86.exe as trying to access the internet.

Why is it doing this?

Isn't reporting, etc. carried out by the BOINC application rather than the Rosetta .exe?

This may be a really stupid question! :)

Ran for 26 seconds only.
Is it worth trying to get a restart on this one? Or shall I abort?

thats the install program for RAH Beta 5.76 that is the new RAH client.
Boinc is the application, but 5.76 also needs internet access to report and get work units. If there is something RAH or BOINC that needs to access the internet, let it.

OK, this is starting to get annoying.

2 more results from a BETA release, 1 froze the rig the other has a validation error.

BETA 5.67

1st : cspA_BOINC_MFR_ABRELAX_CONTROL_1912_13731_0
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=100116577

Just how does this happen? And no credit! And It's done!

DONE :: 1 starting structures 13908.6 cpu seconds
This process generated 10449364 decoys from -542858906 attempts

2nd : LFAB__BOINC_TOP5CHEAT_JUMPRELAX_BARCODE-LFAB_-_1947_3886_1
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=100072160

Ran for 23 seconds, and froze the rig...waiting for permission to contact rosetta...this really needs to be removed, if it fails, move to the next one.

DO NOT freeze the whole rig up for overnight, waiting for permission, to run the debugger, COME ON.. You can name the app the same name and just overwrite it, one time permission setting!

Just name them all : rosetta_windows_intelx86.exe or a different name for Linux, and Mac.

You are changing apps so fast I cannot keep up with the permissions on my firewall. This really needs to be changed!!!

I really do have better things to do with my time than babysit computers for you!
BETA = Bahhh

Way too many errors, killing both the credit & RAC.

And I still think the (New and Improved) credit system is not ready for prime time...

I am not sure if you need to keep track of all 5.76 errors but it is better that I be safe than sorry.
