For some time now I am not getting work from Rosetta and am getting funny messages such as the following:

2007/07/20 09:17:40 AM|rosetta@home|MD5 check failed for 051207_cc1opd_03_05.200_v1_3.gz
2007/07/20 09:17:40 AM|rosetta@home|expected e5cc3c5ba5592fa6ce421e5755bd1b3d, got 1515a1cfd95e045020e2ba71f55219f2
2007/07/20 09:17:40 AM|rosetta@home|Checksum or signature error for 051207_cc1opd_03_05.200_v1_3.gz

It also seems to have difficulty downloading new work on both my computers.

I am not an expert at this - what is wrong and what should I do?

Message 43961 - Posted: 20 Jul 2007, 8:58:17 UTC - in response to Message 43958.

PS I am sure someone is already explaining the answer somewhere here - but I have not had time to wade though all the messages - so if someone has a simple, quick answer it will be much appreciated.

Have crunched Rosetta for a while now and have not had major problems until recently.

Is there a firewall blocking BOINC?

80 (http for server communication)
443 (https for server communication)
31416 (loopback address for manager - client communication)

BOINC.exe needs 31416 and 80 and 443 opened
BOINCmgr.exe needs 31416 opened
BOINC.scr needs 31416 opened

Or just try resetting the project. That should redownload all of the project files.

The first fix to this would be to try "Resetting" the project in case some file has become damaged. This option can be found on the project tab.

But my personal fix would be to update your BOINC program, you are using a very old version 5.2.7 and something in the new client/setup/compile against code (maybe a security fix) which the project is unaware of has come in to play.

So pop to http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php and update and see if that fixes it.

But other than trying them, some more details about your setup and the way you coneect to the internet would help.
