In general though there is nothing wrong with the client, most likely less wrong with it than the older versions now since it's is all just development upon the older client and nothing major has really changed.
The major changes are scheduled for the 6.x.x releases.

Did they fix the problem with 5.10.7 that broke all the proxy support?

No idea. I gave up with proxies back in 5.2 - 5.5.x versions I had an uploading bug. Could download but not upload sometimes (well most times ;-)), luckily I could move away from having to use one.

But
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/query?status=new&status=assigned&status=reopened&status=closed&summary=%7Eproxy&order=priority

One of them ?

If not try the latest version, if it doesn't work add a bug report like we've just been told how to :D

Yes one of them thanks. Looks like there is a patch to add to the client to fix it as well.

5.10.13 is out, and it has some nice graphics added to the advanced view. Should you "UPDATE IMMEDIATELY OR IT'S THE END OF THE UNIVERSE"? That's up to you.

You update immediately if a) you want to help in debugging it; or b) its newer features exceed your level of acceptable risk.

but in this case 5.10.13 is an official release and no longer beta as are the others.

Official release or not, there are gremlins always lurking about. The first 5.10(?) release had to be recalled for bad behavior and people were told to go back to 5.8.16.

I do not think that 5.10.21 is out yet. The boinc site still shows 5.10.20 as the latest.

Anyone here know if there are plans in the works to restrict the number of times the client contacts the server when the project is offline for long periods? I'm thinking of projects like Proteins or Orbit. I would like to see times of a week or so, but that's just me. I would think this would really help bandwitdth for the offline projects, and reduce the client workload. I know this has been mentioned by others before, but I wonder if this is on the agenda currently?

I've even wondered if the projects could set the time intervals for long term offlines to a date to update the client queries, and when they get near the times to start issuing WUs, the project would start setting shorter time intervals. The whole point being lots latitude for the projects to set times and dates for server queries.
