This web pages should have a way of sending an invite to friends and colleges to whom you want to include in the effort. For non tech ppl its hard to understand what you are inviting them to donate... It would be much easier to just explain in persona and afterwards let them receive an email with detail info and a link to a clear sequencencial procedure to install, config and run the software. My opinion, if included in the BOINC shell, could do wonders for propagation purposes.
