I always have a client error when I close my computer and start it the next time up. This happens since I've installed Windows Vista.

What can I do ? I am also running WCG and it seems I don't have there this error, so it must be Rosetta related.

Can you describe the client error? Do you have your General Preference set to leave applications in memory while preempted?

I have read somewhere that you should shut down Boinc before shuting down
the computer when you run Vista.
Has anybody any info on this?

...shut down Boinc before shuting down the computer...

It is good advice for any environment.

This post has a work around. Be warned, it involves registry hacking.

See this thread on the main BOINC site:

"BOINC and Vista"

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=1689

Seems Vista doesn't wait long enough for stuff to shut down properly.. You can however make a change in the registry. The change is described in the thread. (default is 20 seconds, and it seems that 40 or 60 seconds helps!)

I agree that it is related to Rosetta. I had no client errors at WCG, but had a Rosetta client error on Monday after a normal shutdown of Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.

I've added a post in the Problems with 5.59 thread about the errors you are seeing.
