Does anyone know why there has been a big jump in users over the last week? Here's the graph. We noticed that CPDN is down, but other projects don't seem to be deriving any benefit. Is it the folding@home sony PS3 press release?

Could be the issues at Predictor.

And that Docking is out of work (their chart)

Or that Simap is out of work (their chart)

I guess it's the massive boycott at Predictor which caused it.
At least they didn't entirely quit distributed computing!

Hmm, that could make sense. I looked at the message boards over on predictor@home and can't quite pinpoint what might have happened on March 18 or 19 to suddenly deliver users over here. If someone has more insight on those dates (or an alternative theory), please post!

TFlop Estimate seems to have jumped almost three Tera-Flops in the past three days.

Predictor is also issuing WUs with massive RAM requirements. Many users with 512K or 1GB cannot run the new WUs and may be looking for other projects to do, whether temporarily or permanently.
Proudly Banned from Predictator@Home and now Cosmology@home as well. Added SETI to the list today. Temporary ban only - so need to work harder :)

Good point Angus.

That would mean their new requirements on memory are greater than CPDN's.

Sounds like users are voting with their feet. Glad they came here.

Welcome All!!!

This team gathered more than 3000 member within a week. Gave an additional boost in new users.

Maybe this is also a good reason for the user increase

3000 Users with Gaming PC's Alot have Dual-Cores, Quad-Cored, etc....
I think thats a pretty good boost for Rosetta, when you see that they have a 300k+ Credits/day. And i think it will grow, ESL has alot of members (600k+) And everyone of them uses his PC alot.

Actually the boost in new users is pretty completely due to eletronic sports league. 3k Users in just over a week is ~300-400 users a day which makes up all of the huge jump in new users ;).

Atlan is right, we've posted our kickoff news exactly on that day and forced it even more at the second peak after one week. We're at 300 credits a day and we just have started. ;)

I don´t think so. Let´s wait for the admins to make a small statement. I hope we will be able to read one soon. Beside the message "we´re on it", i´ve seen nothing else till now.

I´m quite sure that the server problem is explainable pretty easily. ;-)
