I'm running the latest Boinc and Rosetta versions, but my tasks are stopping all the time. Also when I press Display Graphics, the task freezes, but the CPU keps running at 100%. I've re-installed Boinc manager a few times without fixing this. Can anyone offer help

RALPH and SETI are running fine now (I think). But there seems to be some trouble switching between two apps.

I've been gtting a lot of "access violation" and "illegal instruction" errors lately with 5.54. I don't use the graphics.

ralph (rosetta beta) 5.57 and 5.58 are running fine on my Mac.

The graphics are running too. It's the first time I watch the graphics, so I can't tell you if what I see is correct or no. The pictures are changing. Boinc is not freezing. I can change the size of the window. Everything seems to be ok.

Like Sergio, I hope to see it soon on Rosetta.

Thank you Rhiju

Hi,

I'm not sure if it's here that I'm supposed to post this. The 1% thread that is active is a little hard to follow.

I've been constantly getting Computation Errors in Rosetta Version 5.54. I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.9. I rarely got these with the previous version of Rosetta.

The graphics have been running fine.

My problem is not any kind of errors, but with the steady drop in granted credit over the past two weeks along with a five month RAC of 225+ to 206.

I've heard that these even out. However, mine appears to be a steady consistant drop.

There have been code efficiency problems in the past, and I'm wondering if any inefficiencies exist in 5.5X.

We're looking into this. Keith, does your computer occasionally preempt Rosetta? Then one possible explanation: some of the new science modes that we're testing do not have frequent checkpointing (yet) -- this is our highest priority for the next update (the one after 5.59).

Can you post the answer over on the "Problems with Rosetta version 5.59" thread?

claimed credit 350.31
granted credit 390.51, why?

Rosetta credit is granted based on actual work completed. The credit claimed is based on the BOINC benchmarks. Your machine is crunching a little more efficiently then the benchmarks would have predicted, and so you were granted more credit.

[edit] I see you have a CORE2 CPU. I've noticed that they are almost always awarded significantly more credit then claimed. It just relates to crunching done by the benchmarks are compared to what is actually done in Rosetta. This is part of why Rosetta moved to this credit based on work compelted system for granting credit.
