Hello.

In https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=1433 there is written, that users can set up the work-units' length.

I have some computers which doesn't run often, so the dead-line could be overstepped... Is there a way to regulate the WorkUnit-Length for these computers down or to elongate the ending-time?

Is there a way that a 2-Core-CPU works on 1 WU, so that it is completed faster?

Thank you for answers.

Wishes

You can't control the deadline. But you can control the preferred runtime. The default is 3hrs. The runtime preference is set in your Rosetta Preferences.

On a hyperthreaded or dual-core CPU, there really is no way to combine the efforts of both cores on a single task. But you could set your runtime preference down to as low as an hour. Just be aware that regardless of this preference, Rosetta must complete at least one model for the given protein before it will mark the task as completed. In some cases, especially on slower machines, one model might take several hours.

But, with a short runtime preference, you should be able to make use of a spare moment here and there on your machine, and still complete work in time to get it reported back prior to the deadlines (currently 10 days).

I can't find where to select the runtime on the general preferences.

You set your run time in Rosetta@home preferences ,look for this text

Target CPU run time
