I notice that there are eight rosetta processes listed in the system monitor. Two are running, and the rest are sleeping. Why are these process in memory? I only have 2 cpu's.

This can happen when you select the preference to leave applications in memory while suspended (the recommended setting), and you have manually suspended tasks, and then perhaps resumed them. All other things being equal, BOINC keeps running the task that was running before you resume. So, the suspend holds a task and leaves it in memory, then resume bring it back to a "waiting to run" status.

If you resume the tasks, and let them run through to completion, you will see that you will end up with only 2 in memory, one for each processor.
