Hi, I'm planning on setting up a system with four AMD 3500+ x64 processors or better on a windows machine for playing chess. I'd like to use this same type of computer for running BOINC. If this can be done please implement it :)

BOINC will use all available CPUs on a system if the settings allow it. So you should have no problem running BOINC on this system.

Don't quite get the question.
Are these 4 seperate computers or just one computer ?
The Athlon64 will not work as multiprocessors you would need the opterons, though you would be better off just getting a Core2Quad.

But either way just download boinc and attach to rosetta and it should work fine. A lot of use use Athlon64, I personaly use the 3500+ as well.

I think the Duo-Core CPUs is the best for the boinc

I agree, the Duo Core Cpus are much better. I have 4 computers running in Rosetta. 2 AMD dual cores, 1 intel core duo 2 and 1 intel quad core (q6600 after the price dropped to $300). I am having fun running them in rosetta 14hrs/da. Before I just enjoy building and playing with the computers. When I discovered the Rosetta@home, I found something noble and very usefull for my computers to run. I am very happy now. My wish list is to convert amd dual cores to quad q6600. I am saving for it. :)
I turned off my 5computers when I went on vacation. When I return today, I can not upload work. Need work units to run computers.
