I had this error today:
miƩ 10 ene 2007 21:26:02 CET|rosetta@home|Unrecoverable error for result s027__BOINC_ABRELAX_NEWRELAXFLAGS_hom001__1463_32285_1 (process exited with code 131 (0x83))

looking for the meaning i found the BOINC FAQ Service:
http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/
where in the section "5. BOINC Client Common Errors" we can read:

ERR_FILE_TOO_BIG -131

One of the output files is bigger than the maximum set by the project for upload.
BOINC will not try to upload this file.

Solution: Go to the project's forums and report this behavior.

Is this correct and the server need to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Graphics randomly Lockup my machine.

I have recently had two occasions where I came into my office in the morning and found the rosetta screen saver blank white, and not responding to the system. Had to End Task to close the screen saver window. In both cases BOINC reported that Rosetta was still running after the closing of the window. The compute errors listed below are on the same days as the screen saver lockup.

Computer: 323911
Jan 8: wu# 49950707 and 49930323
Jan 5: wu# 49345172

AMD Athalon XP 2700
Windows XP Pro Service Pack 4
1 Gig of Ram
ATI Radeon 9250 256 meg Video Board

The machine is located in a temperature controled server room and is on a liebert UPS. The motherboard, fans, memory, and running cpu temperature are ok.

I'm sure I am forgetting something important, but it is not comming to me at the moment :-(

If this is a problem, can I disable the graphics for this computer entirely?

You just forgot to check in to whether this is a known problem :) It is... a known problem. Recommendation is to set your Windows screensaver to NONE (or anything other then BOINC), and to not use the "show graphics" button in the BOINC Manager.

I just moved Alfonso's message here from the Linux board. Looks like an output file is filling on the s027__BOINC_ABRELAX_NEWRELAXFLAGS_hom001 work file? He's actually had this happen twice.

https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=56482583 (s026)
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/result.php?resultid=56521402 (s027)

Is there possibly a problem with these WUs?

Thanks and sorry Feet1st,

Obviously I did not research the error very well. For the time being I switched rosetta to another machine I have that has previously been crunching for E@H only. This server has BOINC running as a service. No Graphics. I did not want to disable the screen saver on 323911 because I run both E@h and R@H, and I like the E@H Screen Saver Graphics. It would be nice to be able to disable the graphics by setting the graphics resources to zero, or an enable or disable option.

I had another WU crash on my PowerMac G4 2x1Ghz machine.

It's WU#51145517

This was the error code from BOINC:
Tue Jan 16 12:46:55 2007|rosetta@home|Unrecoverable error for result s029__BOINC_ABRELAX_hom028__1497_699_0 (process exited with code 131 (0x83))

I don't have workunits crashing on any of my x86 machines. Is this a PowerPC-specific or Mac-specific error?

51478896 shows "No heartbeat from core client"
the other two show they were aborted by the user. I take it BOINC lost control of the crunching threads? Did the one failure cause something to occur that required aborting the other two?

Has anyone else been having problems opening the BOINC manager from the task bar? I've had this problem at random times for at least the past 4 development releases of BOINC up to the current 5.8.3. Task manager shows both Rosetta threads taking 50/50 CPU share per normal. The only way I can open BOINC manager is if I kill the process and then restart. Anyone else seeing this? Should I consider this strictly a BOINC problem not Rosetta?

Have you tried a third party BOINC manager like BoincView instead? I actually use it in place of the standard BOINC manager with great results, with the added bonus that I can easily control remote clients with it.

I had to abort the other two because they hung for a a few hours and they said 100% even though both of them were still at 22 seconds of runtime (they were set to 24h) and boinc chose to run other (rosetta) WUs.

I agree that this is a BOINC problem and not Rosetta problem. I learned early on to open the manager from the task bar by RIGHT clicking the icon then selecting the "Open BOINC manager" option. If I double click the left button to open it then the odds are that I will have to reboot or kill all the boinc tasks to get the manager to run again. This is on Windows machines. On my linux boxs I have learned to minimize the manager and never "close" the manager or I get a simular problem.

Well it became such a problem that I had to roll back to 5.4.11. Also, I can't even "right" click the icon. The BOINC "bubble" pop up doesn't even appear when the mouse hovers over the icon. I haven't seen anything like this on the BOINC boards, Has anyone else?

Same with me. I had all 4 PSH_0131_looprlx work units I downloaded fail in a similar manner.
