worked flawless on my system (vista b1, gfx7800), only thing i noticed is if you scale the "show graphics" window smaller, text starts to get printed over each other in the lower panel, but that's just a cosmetic thing i don't really mind. -- Florian www.domplatz1.de |

I am adjusting the way the fonts work, mostly to avoid having to send out the glut32.dll file. But a side benefit is that they now rescale when you adjust the window size. Of course if it is small they may now be too tiny to read... |

Great news! Already looking forward to it. I've crunched 5 gfx units by now and all turned out good. Gfx cards were an old ATI Rage 128 and a nVidia Ti 4200. |
Before we use the graphics executable with all Work Units, we want to make sure it doesn't crash more often than the non-graphics version. So we've sent out 1000 graphics WUs to see what the failure rate is. So far it is very low, and things look good. You are right that we won't have a true test until everybody has a graphics WU. We're moving incrementally towards that. So this is mostly a beta-test from our end at the moment. We are also making a few tweaks to the graphics before we send out the next version.
You could make a "reference" graphics WU available for users to download to experience a graphics WU before general release. The WU could be similar to the SETI reference WU used for optimizing and benchmarking. |

I think the graphics are great. The admins on this project need a BIG PAT ON THE BACK !!!! They are so responsive and seem to care about what people are saying. Way to go people !! Ecaf |

Any update on when all of the WU's will have the graphics? My client just downloaded several WU's and not one of them is a graphic version. :( |

Any update on when all of the WU's will have the graphics? My client just downloaded several WU's and not one of them is a graphic version. :( I'm hoping we can start rolling them out by mid-week. I know I suggested they might be coming earlier, but this time I think I'm being more accurate. I've been doing some techincal and visual refinements, incorporating a number of the suggestions from the boinc users. In the meantime, keep downloading WUs and you might get lucky! Thanks for all your patience and interest. |

W00t! Just received another gfx unit! But it'll take me three days to get to it. You can get to it earlier by suspending (don't abort!) the non graphic WU's. You just have to promise to resume them when the graphic one is done. |

it looked quite calm for a while ............with slow gentle movements, then it thrashed around violently for a short while, the red line at the side looked like one of those earthquake graphs during a big quake. i note that the figure in the bottom left was leaping around in the + at the time. when its moving slowly its reading around -120 46 years dc so far join team FaDbeens join us |

Got one, and it just started running! This time it didn't error out like my earlier one -- I put a copy of glut32.dll in my system folder just in case. This is very cool stuff. You actually get to see the protein moving around, changing shape and settling down to a low energy state! There's a graph along the bottom showing energy, and one up the right side showing RMSD, and the intersection of the two graphs plots a 2-D chart like the ones in the results area of the home page, in addition to two views of the protein shifting around. Really nice stuff!! Everyone's gonna love it. |

Further observations on graphics ;-) -- I let it run as a screensaver for a while, as opposed to "show graphics". On a dual processor machine, it switched back and forth with the graphics of the other running project without a hitch, and no fighting with the screensaver was necessary to regain control of the machine (Think LHC). Great job! |

Yes, I also got one (finally! I think they have thought that they better had to send one to me, to make me shut up! ;-) ), and it's funny to watch! I have suspended the other WU's I have to prevent it from being interrupted. There is an issue with the text though, that when you see the graphic in a small window, some of it are mixed together.
