First of all the details:
Mac OS X.4.8
Boinc manager version 5.4.9
iMac Core Duo (Intel) w/ 2GB RAM

Up until sometime last week I've had no troubles running rosetta and simap (since last Spring). Now EVERY rosetta WU results in an unrecoverable error and the OS Activity Monitor says that rosetta is 'not responding' while at the same time taking up the great majority of the processors cycles.

What am I doing wrong?

In the Wondoze section there is a similar problem and they stated there are a bunch of "BAD" work units floating about. Have not had this problem with my MAC, but almost the same symptoms with my 2 Windoze computers.
Try new work units, if that fails, then re-install BOINC.
Hope I helped.
