I recently built a new computer. I still have BOINC running on my old machine (sitting next to me), but the machine I'm on at this moment's BOINC session will not connect to the internet. I don't think port forwarding would help at all on the router's side... in fact it doesn't even make sense because the original computer is on the same network/router and I did not have to change anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Things I've tried:
1. the firewall on/off does not matter
2. port forwarding on the router did nothing
3. the computer accesses the internet with every other internet-based program
4. the XP firewall is not enabled

What Firewall, (Zonealarm even if off can still block programs)
Just allow Boinc.exe and Boincmgr.exe through your firewall.

Else reinstall it :-)

You also may want to make sure you're using the lastest BOINC (5.4.11 for Windows) I notice your other computer (the only one showing in your account) is using quite and old version (very old version).

You could also be typing in the wrong attach address (if this is when it happens) it https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta
