Since larger computer systems (or complexes) require ongoing maintenance and reboots, I was trying to find the option on the boinc manager to toggle auto-start for the app. There is that option on the initial boinc manager install, but not later. Anyone know if it's there, and handy? Otherwise will try:
- suspend boinc
- reinstall boinc
- accept autostart

Though it's got nothing to do with this topic subject.
(also assuming you know somehting about it as you're admin ;-)

If it's a service you just enable and disable the service.

If it not a service then you just drag a short cut to boinc manager in the startup folder.

Thanks FluffyChicken. Topics have "fuzziness" to them, and it is a question that folks with lots of system power might find of interest. Your answer certainly works for Windows. Not sure if it helps with Linux or Mac, but probably gets them started at least. Keep "clucking" away, & thanks again.

Many of us don't have accounts set up on the proper boards for making suggestions for improvements to Rosetta or BOINC.

If you don't have an account on Ralph or Boinc, don't feel like setting one up, then post here. One of the helpful fellow Rosetta folks will probably relay your suggestion, by posting a link to your message to the right thread.

This looks like the intented spot for suggestions.

It looks like people are posting suggestions here, too.

Boinc
You need to select which aspect of Boinc you're recommending changes.

I moved the messages as they're a Boinc issue, Admin-SuperGrids. The Boinc account manager sure doesn't seem to give the option of switching from Service install to Stand alone install. Or vice versa.

Found this on seti q+a,

Add BOINCMGR.EXE to your Startup folder in Windows. The BOINC Manager will then be loaded each time you start.
