Message 25171 - Posted: 27 Aug 2006, 21:36:40 UTC - in response to Message 25161.

Consider this, if a team reports thousands of models crunched... and happens to both be SENT, AND to RETURN these WUs first with overclaimed credits... if they succeed at ALL of that... then the credit per model granted to EVERYONE downstream from there is also inflated. In essence, for all the effort, they've benefitted everyone (creditwise) as much as themselves. It's a zero-sum game.

But not inflated to the same extent. The further away you get from the first larger claimed credit, the less benefit you receive.

Are there any hosts that run a standard client and unmodified xml benchmarks that are getting less granted than claimed?

Yes, I have some WU's.

Cheers

It will be interesting to keep an eye on how the results pan out for this box.

Any others?

Yes. A couple.

And I'm not impressed by the "new and improved creditsystem". Not much gained in that. So I'm only finishing up to my 15,000 milestone, approximately 10 WU's more to go.

Correct link
It seems your claimed and granted credit are very close and with little variation. Overall you seem to get slightly more credits as with the old credits system. That's okay but why are you not happy with the new credit system?

If your CPU supports Hyperthreading you should turn it on and allow two instances of Rosetta on your machine. Your RAM seems sufficient for that and it will boost your credits/day by approximately 15%.

It doesn't.

What is wrong with the link in my post?

Strange.

I don't see any differences in those two links

https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/results.php?hostid=200144

https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/results.php?hostid=200144

And I don't have my computer hidden, so it's not because you are not allowed to see my results.

Anyway, it doesn't matter.

Fuzzy, your actual post

https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_reply.php?thread=2204&post=25177#25177

links to this

https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/results.php?userid=3088

The quoted post for some reason has reverted it to the correct link, <shrugs, unless tralala accidentaly altered the quote>

Sorry, I still don't see any problems, I linked to my results, my userid is 3088, I get to the right site as I intended.

But you are right ::shrug::

The last update to the Forum software changed it so that page was only viewable by the account owner, Holly. I told someone that their computers were hidden because I couldn't get to their results that way anymore; only to find out they weren't. Whoops.

I just tested this.. When you quote Holly's original post, the link she gave uses UserID. In Tralala's post, he's changed both links to use HostID. Both types of links work fine for Holly; although the rest of us can only use the HostID link.
