Agere Systems has a large number of Sparc Ultra80s that they would like to setup in a lab for crunching Rosetta data. Is it possible to get work units for these machines. If machines are needed for development work, we are willing to dedicate machines for this purpose.

Can you run Linux on those? Rosetta runs under BOINC, and supports Linux.

Rosetta only supports Linux on x86. This binaries would not run on the SPARCs, because SPARC and x86 are complete different architectures.

If you've not had any feedback from them, you maybe better of getting hold of one of the moderators or emailing them.

These forum sections are in general not really used.
You'd probably get a better response in https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_forum.php?id=1 the descusion area.

Though there is not SPARC CPU client (Just x86 Win/Mac/Linux & PPC Mac)
Though they may take you on the offer if they think it vialble for development.
They may not of course.

Hi all,

thank you for your replies. I sent a mail to the "rosettamod" account yesterday and Ethan wrote he contacted them.
