A Challenge: To anyone who feels that what XS has done in using the optimised files has so tainted the credit system and to make the standings meaningless I propose this: You gentlemen who have been vocal against us form a small team and pool your PC's. I will use the 4 at my home. We run the new credit system for 30 days. At the end the loser stops posting here. Sorry Ethan, cookies are meaningless as a prize. Lets have my suggestion instead, something to shoot for that both sides want. This is a simple back up your opinions with your equipment. Thanks for reading, Movieman |

A Challenge: At the moment I have the following equipment: DX3600 DX2400 Dothan based desktop system( may change due to a pending sale) Dual-dualcore opteron system..Only one cpu. None overclocked at all besides the dothan system And the reason for all this sh*t as you call it is the asine benchmark system in BOINC tha was so lopsided towards AMD that anyone running an Intel based system was at a 40-60% disadvantage. I don't remember you being one of the opposition on this issue and I thought Teddies was already gone from Rosetta? BTW: My machines are visable, your's are not. Movieman |

Optimized clients are not relevant, Movieman stated the new credit system would be used. Let's not rehash how or why the optimized app came to be. |

I didn't use any offending words. Movieman, I have no probs with unhiding my crunchers. I did hide them because there are a lot of "dead" crunchers listed. At home I do TSC and at work I have 9 Sempron 2800+ crunching Rosetta under LTSP. Teddies.... |

I'll toss my 4 up against that bunch..no issue, but you weren't who I was expecting to see reply to this. I have no issues with the guys from Teddies, just the opposite. We have a decent relationship. So? we have 9 sempron2800's against my 4?? |

I take it that all means you are staying here at Rosetta now Movieman and Jose ? That is still up in the air to be honest. We will know better in a few days. There are some issues that need to be discussed and if they can be solved we will be here, if not? well, that I really can't answer right now. Movieman |

Optimized clients are not relevant, Movieman stated the new credit system would be used. Let's not rehash how or why the optimized app came to be. Against me? or with me?<BG> I can see a problem developing. My challenge was to the "vocal" group here that campaigned against the optimised files and used the "C" word in relation ot XS. The point was to show that I as one person was producing more than the entire group of them.Orginally I named these people but was asked by Ethan not to so the issue is being clouded. Something else that needs to be said here: WE have a problem with children playing games with the + and - boxes below each post in an effort to elininate posts from the forum. That's dirty pool gentlemen and if it isn't stopped I will bring 200 people here in a heartbeat and destroy this voting system before you can blink. That is no threat, that is a statement of fact. If we're going to get down and dirty here, I'm more than willing to do so.. It's your decision on how this is played. Clean or dirty. |

[ With you of course - :) The two or three of us could take on the zero RACers , I am sure that the crunchers you have at your disposal would be ample all by yourself, but I find it hard to pass up a race for a good cause. I would only donate 3 or 4 of the 50+ crunchers for the cause. SETI.USA |

Planning a minus attack? That's dirty. And yes, I have noticed the minusings of mine and other's posts here. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1663924&postcount=47 Ive been doing some reading over at the rosy boards, and Ive found some very interesting (disturbing) facts. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1663939&postcount=48 I wondered what the point was of the ratings system other than to vote what you thought about it. I'm glad you posted this. It shows that a group can eliminate any opposing view just by voting against it enough times in a short timeframe. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1663942&postcount=49 Responding is only going to make things worse and is pretty futile now. I'm reporting every post I see from the few from now on I have hit the red "X" on 3 of saenger's posts today and I advise all to do the same, they must take notice now... http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1663964&postcount=50 why don't we just delete every post on their forum :p Maybe David Kim should disable the ratings again? Before the children start to play. Interesting reading on that board, by the way! "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me |

It takes a -25 rating to make a post disappear (by default, and I doubt very many people override that in their settings). I haven't seen a post lower than -3 or so. Has any post gotten near -25? I voted against some posts that were just mindless attacks on Ethan. I was once a mod (on another forum) so I know what a difficult job he has, and what a great job he's doing. |

It sounds like an uneven contest for a prize that isn't worth winning. Just like suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, the issues at stake should be temporary as well. |
