I noticed that some others have reported similar behavior but I could not find a solution that worked for me. I'm running Fedora Core 5 and I'm surprised that only for Rosetta my Win machines are outperforming the Linux machines, although the Linux machines have better hardware.

Here's the output of a ps query
$ ps -eHo pid,s,comm | grep rose
19629 S rosetta_5.25_i6
19630 S rosetta_5.25_i6
19631 S rosetta_5.25_i6
19632 S rosetta_5.25_i6

I've modified my settings to 'Target CPU run time'=1hr and 'Leave applications in memory while preempted?'=yes but that did not seem to help.

:) no, it's just that not many people look in the Q&A section of the board (lazy buggers).

So let me try to answer this for you:

BOINC always gives a low score to Linux (compared to Win), BOINC benchmarking is different/wrong on these platforms, therefore the credits in Linux are lower.

The good news is that Rosetta@Home is going to ignore BOINC's benchmarking and make it's own scoring system, which should get rid of this problem.
