Message 21971 - Posted: 7 Aug 2006, 10:01:26 UTC - in response to Message 21970.

Can't guarantee accuracy, but in post "When are CASP 7 WU's finished?", Soriak suggests 12:00 noon PST (GMT - 7).

What time today is the final deadline? I've got some wus that I've got to go and manually upload. Thanks.

Thank you!...

Keep in mind that the noon deadline is for the actual submission to CASP - if you can arrange it, try to have the work unit returned a couple hours in advance. That way Dr. Baker's team has time to verify and submit it, if it turns out to be the lowest energy model.

Dr. Baker hasn't posted about when they're wrapping things up, so those 'couple hours' are just my estimate - the noon deadline comes from the CASP website though: http://predictioncenter.org/casp7/targets/cgi/casp7-view.cgi?loc=predictioncenter.org;page=casp7/

I'm very excited to hear about "our" performance in this challenge... hopefully Rosetta does even better than 2 years ago (much work has gone into refining the program, plus all the extra computing power that came with BOINC) and serves as a role model for distributed computing.

I'm imagining a world where every computer crunches 24/7 on a distributed computing project. Also a world where I bought a lot of shares in energy companies right before that happens ;)
