Just remember to give the Penguin a new air-pack every now and then...

here we go again, level 4 and a perfect elliptical orbit that will take a while to reach the ship i think. keep you posted later.

hes got a absolute perfect orbit going, double elipitical orbit so that the pattern shows a perfect circle with no drift. So I think penguin just became a satalite. currently in the 500,000 range of distance and going on and on like the energizer bunny.

So how will you get credit for all those points? I aborted my "orbit", and quit the game after 1/2 hour. If the Penguin does not get into the ship after all that distance, do you still get the points?

heck if i know, i suspect that if he is in perfect orbit then it is pointless to let him keep going if your not going to get the points. I'll stop his orbit now and lets see what happens. i just pulled him out of orbit and the points didn't count and i could shoot him again. bummer deal.

I killed that other thing after I realized that he would never actually hit the planet.

I'm now going for cool designs rather than points... How's this one?

Amazing what you can do with graphics algorithms...

Now this is new, I just got a message that froze the game saying "Ooops! Looks like you're in an orbit. When you want to try again click anywhere on the screen." This message comes as a bit of a surprise since the penguin had only looped the planet twice and that last picture that I put up had the penguin in a permanent orbit that lasted 10 or 15 minutes...

[edit: OK, so it let the penguin keep going after I closed the dialogue box, but it must only be able to catch a few instances...]

thats the exact same pattern i was talking about earlier.
i am on the same game different level trying another partial orbit thing, first one he got stuck, could stop and recover him and try another variation. But it looks like in level 13 if you shoot the lower planet just right you get stuck in a loop next to it that expands out only so far.

how do you do the screen shots? then we can compare orbits and levels.

Too many people seems to be having way too much fun with these Penguin games.

Any Tiger games?!

Greg, I'm on a Mac laptop, so I use a keyboard shortcut (though four keys at once is hardly a shortcut) for the "Grab" utility. On a pc with a regular keyboard there should be a button that says "print screen" that will make an image on the clipboard, which you can then paste into photoshop. I'm sure there's a better (easier) way, but I don't know it.

Oh, BTW, I win.

"Space," it says, "is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the street to the chemist but that's just peanuts to space, listen.." and so on

Every Star Trek series so far has yet to reach the edge of space even with warp 10 and the Borg it seems don't even know the edge of space.
The final frontier is so large no one knows the boundaries of it.

Just a friendly reminder to everyone to ensure that their home-bar is properly stocked for tonight...

Here's what the Encyclopedia Galactica has to say about alcohol. It says that alcohol is a colourless volatile liquid formed by the fermentation of sugars and also notes its intoxicating effect on certain carbon-based life forms. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy also mentions alcohol. *It says that the best drink in existence is the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. It says that the effect of a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick*. The Guide also tells you on which planets the best Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters are mixed, how much you can expect to pay for one and what voluntary organizations exist to help you rehabilitate afterwards. The Guide even tells you how you can mix one yourself. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy sells rather better than the Encyclopedia Galactica.

Recipe

The Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster was invented by Zaphod Beeblebrox. Its original recipe, is as follows:

Take the juice from one bottle of that Ol' Janx Spirit.
Pour into it one measure of water from the seas of Santraginus V.
Allow three cubes of Arcturan Mega-gin to melt into the mixture (it must be properly iced or the benzene is lost).
Allow four litres of Fallian marsh gas to bubble through it.
Over the back of a silver spoon float a measure of Qalactin Hypermint extract.
Drop in the tooth of an Algolian Suntiger.
Sprinkle Zamphuor.
Add an olive.
Drink . . . but . . . very carefully . . .

For those on Earth, so sorry: In an interview, Douglas Adams stated that there are a number of environmental and weapons treaties and laws of physics which prevent the The Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster from being mixed on Earth.

and here is a reciepie to go with the text below

1. 1 oz. EverClear
2. 4 oz. Bombay Sapphire or Jeremiah Weed
3. 4 oz. Cold Wild Turkey
4. 2 oz. Herredura Tequila
5. 5 oz. Rum
6. 1 worm from bottle of Mezcla
7. 2 oz. Gatorade

This makes one approximately 18 ounce Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. The reason this drink seems so large is that Zaphod Beeblebrox has two heads, so when he created it, it came out to 9 ounces per head, so both were happy.

Before drinking, eat one olive to create a sweetness in it which is not there.

Drink very, very extremely carefully at your own risk, and remember where your towel is (if you can).

or try this one:

Ingredients
Scale ingredients to servings

1 oz Everclear® alcohol
1 oz Goldschlager® cinnamon schnapps
1 oz lemon juice
1 splash Blue Curacao liqueur

Place ingredients into a cocktail shaker over ice. Shake and strain into a martini cocktail glass. Consume as a shot.

or:

1 tbsp vodka
1 tbsp light rum
1 tbsp gin
1 tbsp tequila
1 tbsp creme de menthe
1 tbsp Galliano® herbal liqueur
1 slice lemon

Combine the gin, rum, vodka, tequila, creme de menthe, Galliano and ice in the container of a blender. Cover, and blend until slushy. Pour into a glass and garnish with a slice of lemon.

another version I remember but can't find at the moment was this:

goto your liquor cabinet and open it and pour one shot of everything into a glass and stir it up. drink very slowly. repeat if needed.

The advice for drinking these is not to drink anything strong before drinking this and not to drink anything strong for at least a day after drinking these potions.
