Not all the way!

One computer with:

Rosetta 150
Seti 150
Ralph 100
Seti Beta/Astropulse 100
LHC 100 (when there's WU's to get)
Pirates 100 (when there's WU's to get, and they are usually done as a flash, so no real competition there)

But I like Rosetta, and I help out with Ralph. When I left Einstein, I went to Rosetta.

Pffffew... 30 machines? Definately I want to see a picture of those 3 in your bathroom... ;-)
You MUST get special rates from your electric company :-D

Anyway, my previous post is obsolete now: Every cycle of my 4 machines CPUs are spent to Rosi now - including the "hijacked" one of my girlfriend, hehe...

Sorry, CPDN and SAP, I'll come back 'till this ralley is over...

Now I don't feel so bad after seeing your power bill. :)
All machines here run Rosetta 24/7

I use to run all single core, 25 of them. Now all my machines 'cepting two are dual core or dual CPU.

When dealing with large numbers of machines like that - what steps have you taken to reduce power usage? Have you moved to 2.5" laptop HDs? Went with onboard video, or found a very low power video card? (Or headless crunchers with no video card at all?)

Or should we move the question to another thread?

Electricity costs? Bah! Here's the *real* money question for you folks with many windows machines: How do you pay for all the antivirus/firewall/whatever? What does Norton charge per machine these days? $60/year * 30 machines = $1800! (just a what-if) Or do you just hang out nekkid behind a NAT and let it all hang out?

Anti-virus program is not essential with Windows. Just a free software firewall is enough.

Anti-virus program is not essential with Windows. Just a free software firewall is enough.
For example, ZoneAlarm is good free firewall software.
And one of the best free antivirus softwares seems avast! 4 home edition. This software works not only on x86 but also on x64 architecture. Features of it are: real time watching/scanning, SMTP/POP/IMAP4 protocol watching, webshield and so on. It's worth to try.

Anyway, 30 machines would cost me soooo much money.

Well if you really must know, yes, I'm naked but plan on getting dressed soon as I have to go to buy 3 or 4 more machines...

(what's this guy think I am, stupid??)

Actually I use Grisoft's AVG free edition AntiVirus program and ZoneAlarm firewall. I don't really need either as my ISP (Hughes.net) filters most of the junk and hackers before the even get to me... What they don't catch my Network Router does...
