Message 19482 - Posted: 29 Jun 2006, 18:30:02 UTC

As I check in and see my stats rising I ask myself if I should join a team.

Does anyone know the percentage of people running Rosetta that is on a team/not on a team?

I am NOT looking for input about any particular team, as I can find that information on my own. I am just wondering how poplular it is to be on a team, and I would like feedback about any problems people have had (In general, again, not asking about any one team).

Thanks for any input....

Hi John,

if you look here, you will see that only 18 percent of Rosetta users are in teams.

Thank You. I had never noticed this stat.

Wow.. Such low team numbers.

I guess everyone is looking out for #1. (joke)

A more interesting stat is what % of the total points is not under a team.

I just started this month (using two computers), and joined a team (Sci-Fi) after a couple weeks for no particular reason. I can't see that it makes a iota of difference.

After being on several different teams on several different DC projects, I ran into a case where I found the team leader's actions reprehensible - and joined another team.
Another possible problem is that you get such a feeling of camraderie with the rest of the team members that you start taking their advice on how to boost your production (overclock, run 24/7, get another system, etc). *grin*

Statistics for this thread so far..............

John Gann and myself are the only two 'teamless' guys out of six so far.

That's 33.3%...................

I'm on a team.

I do it for the fun and comraderie.

I belong to The Final Front Ear. We have a lot of fun... message boards, Skype chats and an upcoming get together.

I think it's worth joining a team.

That 18% are producing 48.1% of the results. I was going to say something similar to Kath, "I do it for the fun and comraderie" and that I believe we encourage each other to keep going. I think the stats say that too.

I created a team for my new school, though I haven't advertised it yet, so for now the "team" is my laptop and my fiancee's desktop running 24/7 LOL
Should break into the top 1000 teams sometime tonight though - not bad for roughly 3 weeks :)

I'm hoping to get a lot of support from my school once I advertise - not just for stats, but mainly because this is a great cause.

Wow - congrats on finding a team John!

That now makes me a minority group of just 11%.

Can I get any Government grants for this?

(Going slightly off-topic to say.....)
