Hardware:
Mac iBook G4 @ 1.33Ghz, Mac OS 10.3.9 & Is 100% Stable, 768MB Ram, BOINC 5.4.9, Rosetta 5.24, BOINC is set to "Run Always & Network Available Always...

1st:
"To Completion" Timer Counts Up... Clicking Up Second by Painful Second... If I DO NOT know when the "WU" is going to be Completed... I may Detach from the Project as I DO NOT want to waste Precious CPU Time to a WU that Never ends... How Retarded is that???

2nd:
The "Progress" Percentage is Stuck or Does Not Count up as the CPU Time Ticks away... This Problem might be Related to the "To Completion" Timer... As the Rosetta App CANNOT compute a Progress Percentage as a Result of the "To Completion" Timer Forever Counting Up & Up & Up & Up...

If this Problem is NOT resolved I may Detach from the Project, as I DO NOT want to WASTE Valuable CPU Time on a WU that never ends...

Other than that... All other Projects running on BOINC run Correctly... Not Rosetta...

Waiting Patiently for the Fix...

Aloha,

BOINC Cruncher - Team "Hawaiian Beach Bums"

Hi, KiwiHonolulu

the "To Completion" Timer of Rosetta is a little strange, I admit. But your WUs will all finish fine without problem and in time too. The timer will show the same progress percentage until the next checkpoint is reached and will then e.g. jump from 5.303 % to 8.463 % with the "To Completion" time falling to a value that roughly fits the set time for the WU (default is 3 hours).

What you will thus notice is that the timer counts up although Rosetta is working perfectly fine and is crunching away happily. So, don't worry. This way it may also often seem like there is, say, half an hour left of crunching although Rosetta is already in the last steps of the last model and will finish in some minutes. As I said, it is strange and surely deceptive, but everything works just as supposed. No WU will run forever and the set times are normally kept.

If you really feel annoyed, you might just put a request in this thread.

Regards,

Christoph
