I wish we had more than a couple days for a deadline because I run multiple projects and every time I try for a cache larger than 0.5 days, it downloads many many rosetta wu;s and then only works on this one project becuase the computer is suddenly over commitedd because every projects gives at least 2-3 weeks, but not rosetta.... only a few days...

Please fix this problem!!
thanks.

Sounds like perhaps BOINC hasn't fully adjusted for your work unit runtime preference. When you first change this, BOINC doesn't have a proper estimate and so downloads the number of work units that would be needed at the old runtime rather than the new runtime. So if you are increasing your runtime, it downloads too much work. Further details here.

Once it has crunched a few WUs and updated to the project, you will see the estimated time to completion of new work units will come inline with your new runtime preference and then BOINC will schedule accordingly.

BOINC is handling the scheduling and downloading. There isn't anything Rosetta can do for your situation, they presently need the results back sooner, so they have to set 7 day deadlines.

Keep in mind that BOINC keeps track of the time spent on each project, and if Rosetta gets more than it's share during earliest deadline first, then this is paid back to the other projects after the work is processed.

You will find this issue will adjust itself over time if you just let BOINC do it's thing.

I still wish all projects would give similar deadlines, at least 2 weeks... rosetta is the odd man out here and I wish that would change.
