I can't seemt o get BOINC to open webpages. it cant find my browser, but everything should be set up ok

Had a similar problem...

add to /etc/profile:

BROWSER="/usr/bin/mozilla-firefox"
export BROWSER

may not be the ideal method but works for me

Way to go Brian!

You added the final piece to the puzzle - export BROWSER.

Just one thing though, the path to activate the browser will vary.
