I have run out of work units for Rosetta @ Home. I am logging in using the https:. The system requests work units and gets deferred for 30 sec and then quits after 2 attempts. I have two computers with the same problem. Running Win 10 Pro.

There is a problem on the server such that it is not sending out any new tasks to anybody. It is probably temporary, but might not be rectified until after the holiday.

Hello,
I am from Belgium too and got the same problem for 3 days on my 2 computers.
Yesterday, one of them received new workunits but still nothing on the other computer.

Anyone knows what he trouble is ?

No: we don’t know what the problem is. We do not expect it to be resolved until the project administrators return to work in the New Year.

There is a very small number of tasks available – but nowhere near enough for everybody.

Stay patient, and check back next week…

Message 100259 - Posted: 30 Dec 2020, 21:35:53 UTC - in response to Message 100238.

I have been having the same issue. New user here. Luckily after troubleshooting for a solid hour, I came to this trusty forum and searched "no new work" and here I am. I have set up two Raspberry Pi 4's with 64-Bit headless Ubuntu Server OS and kept receiving the "No tasks sent" message on both within BOINC. Just for good measure, I installed the client on my Windows 10 machine and received the same message. I did check back early this morning around 12AM EDT and had seen that my desktop PC did receive some work to crunch, and one of my Raspberry Pi's said it has some work waiting, but it never started. I did a reboot of the Raspberry Pi, and it now shows nothing.

I'm looking to pump some traffic into my new Fortinet Firewall in my home lab setup and figured this would be a great option. I get to help solve some problems with some Rosetta crunching and keep traffic flowing through my test firewall while I continue to learn/test with it.

I guess we shall see what the new year brings.

Rosetta tasks typically download around 3 MB of input data, then upload about 1 MB of results 8 hours later. Other applications may be better suited to firewall testing…

Message 100321 - Posted: 6 Jan 2021, 11:59:40 UTC

Bonjour,

On this account you are using to post, there is no other project. It shows an i7700 with only 1 core (it is a 4 core/8 thread CPU) running LINUX, that was created on the 2/3/21 and has never asked for any work.
The i5 3200M is contacting the sever, but probably not asking for any work- it was taking over 2 days to return work, the Tasks have a 3 day deadline. So if you have made any changes to that system there's a good chance it can't process any Tasks before the deadline, so it won't ask for any more work. Especially if you are running other projects on a different account.

No new work since months here,
At present Rosetta 4.20 work is only available every few days, and only for a few hours to only a few minutes.
There is plenty of Pythion work available, but it requires VritualBox & huge amounts of RAM & disk space. And if you produce certain errors your system will be black listed & will no longer get any work unless you manually go to your account page & re-enable Python Tasks.

Thanks for that piece of information.
I'm afraid I can not afford Python processing.
So, I will wait for regular 4.2 workunits.

As usual, after posting an issue in a forum, solution comes. This night:
08-Feb-2022 21:34:02 [Rosetta@home] Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
08-Feb-2022 21:34:02 [Rosetta@home] Requesting new tasks for CPU
08-Feb-2022 21:34:04 [Rosetta@home] Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
08-Feb-2022 21:34:04 [Rosetta@home] No tasks sent
08-Feb-2022 21:34:04 [Rosetta@home] Project requested delay of 31 seconds

and then....

09-Feb-2022 04:20:37 [Rosetta@home] Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
09-Feb-2022 04:20:37 [Rosetta@home] Requesting new tasks for CPU
09-Feb-2022 04:20:40 [Rosetta@home] Scheduler request completed: got 12 new tasks

So, happy again contributing this beautiful project.

Thanks again for your answer.

Yeah.
This is looking like the largest batch of 4.20 work released since last year (second largest so far, but still climbing). But unless they release some more soon, it looks like this batch is just about done as well.

Hi,
I'm having the same problem: i cannot receive new work for Rosetta@Home. I don't understand why.
I checked all preferences in my profile page but i cannot find the option you are talking about (manually go to your account page & re-enable Python Tasks).
Can you help me to fix this problem?

Thank you,

Maybe.

From a previous thread-
If you go to the "Details" page for the machine in question (assuming you're logged in to the bakerlab.org website), then at the bottom of the page there is either an Allow or Skip button. You might need to hit that to re-allow Python tasks. It gets disabled after a few tasks have errored out.

So for your computers, if you click on the Details link for each, near the bottom of the page should be a button that says Allow. Click on that.

This is assuming that you have VirtualBox installed (the easiest way is probably to just download the current version of BOINC that includes VirtualBox & re-install it), and Virtualisation is enabled in your BIOS & Operating System, and HyperV is not enabled.

Thank you so much, now I have finally found that option. Infact it wasn't enabled: after enabling it again Rosetta@home backed up to download new works to analyze.

Thank you again,
