Just posting this BIG news here,

because the Rosetta Team just posted it on Twitter so far.

Well that certainly makes our efforts worthwhile.
Thanks! I would not normally see Twitter.

Very good news indeed.

I hope we get a nice, detailed announcement at the Rosetta@home website.

And still nothing.

2 weeks since the original tweet, nothing at Rosetta.

Guessing making sure they can replicate it AND get others to replicate it as well. My son is a PHD Chemist, NOT for Rosetta or working on COVID, said the problem is a result is good but isn't worth anything if both you can't replicate AND someone else can replicate it as well. Waaay too many variables can get mixed in so replication is critical.

I'm certain they are working hard on it, but my point is they could and should have posted on Rosetta@home the exact same thing they posted on Twitter.

I believe that's always been a concern

I dare say to get their attention, you need to be on Twitter…

I did so, as I did before in May when posted another update on Twitter.
Didn't work.
And I thought communication at WCG needed improvement, at least they post monthly updates on all projects.

A big part of researching things is you can't say you've found something until you REALLY have but that takes time you have to be incredibly thorough so when they have something they'll post it.

My point is they should post at Rosetta@home the same science updates they post at the official Rosetta@home Twitter account.
No reason to post something on Twitter and not on the project. If the issue here were what you describe, then they wouldn't have posted anything anywhere.

User fritzhuber created this thread over a month ago. Bad communication isn't new at this project.
In the meantime, a bunch of people who joined this project over the last several months are no longer contributing. Among other factors, maybe the fact that most recent update on the Rosetta@home project is almost 4 months old also played a role on that?

A worthwhile project with very bad communication.

A worthwhile project with very bad communication.

I like to think that they are spending their time on more important issues of science.
But it is probably just bad communications.
