What is the meaning of the message in my event log that says "Project requested delay of 31 seconds"? It pops up every 1 1/2 - 2:00 hours... The message comes up when the client contacts the server and the delay is to protect the server from a client flooding the server with requests. If you are not seeing any other messages in the event log detailing the contacts then go into > options > event log options, set an option on and the off again and save the values. This should reset the flags and get the messages flowing again. |

This should reset the flags and get the messages flowing again. BOINC 7.16.5 has a bug where they haven’t enabled the default logging. The OP is running 7.16.5. If you are using it then toggle them on and leave them on. The default logging flags (were) task, file_xfer and sched_ops. BOINC blog |

Is there an option to disable those "Project requested delay of xx seconds" messages? |

Is there an option to disable those "Project requested delay of xx seconds" messages? I don't think so. It seems to be new default info with the latest version of the Boinc Manager. It's only one line per update request and will differ for each project. Not worth the time to write even one line about it, let alone my two here |
