Hi, to All.

I have specific question on Error messages Events for Rossetta on XP.

I currently run a number of projects and OS's and another for Rosetta on a OLD Xp too with Anti-virus (manually updated)
Everything works and jobs are running, however I do check the Event log file from time to time and see the recurring error message(s) for some jobs posted as below: -

1.
Rosetta@home | Scheduler request completed: got 1 new tasks
5/1/2020 5:20:15 AM | Rosetta@home | Started download of r4k_3297_data.zip

5/1/2020 7:16:59 AM | Rosetta@home | Requesting new tasks for CPU
5/1/2020 7:17:01 AM | Rosetta@home | Scheduler request completed

Q. Rosetta@home | [error] Process creation failed: (unknown error) - error code 193 (0xc1)?

2.
/2/2020 3:12:18 AM | Rosetta@home | Requesting new tasks for CPU
5/2/2020 3:12:20 AM | Rosetta@home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
5/2/2020 3:12:20 AM | Rosetta@home | This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/
5/2/2020 3:12:20 AM | Rosetta@home | No tasks sent
Q. Did reload app and project too?.

If any one knows if I should contact Admin or other to help fix this or is this auto-fixing without manual intervention, i.e job re-submitted. Most if not all run.

Thanks, Please keep safe and best wishes to all.
:)

Your host seems to be failing on all work that it is sent.

Typically process creation failure is due to authority issues. What Windows user is running BOINC?

Hi,

Thank you for replying.

The User is Admin Equivalent, so the Boinc apps/Tasks have access to most resources.
So starting a Job, using Disk Space (30GB+) or indeed needing more memory c2.5GB is available.
It shows 374 jobs complete, but you are informing me these have all/mostly failed?.

There is also World Community running and this has completed around 10x more jobs.

Boinc Manager Version: 7.14.2 WxW ver: 3.0.1

How can I fix this then?, what needs to happen on the Host?, the USER has the highest rights available?.
When running it has c100% CPU access and no current limit on Disk space or start child processes.

Regards,

Hi Again,

Would creating a new user be best giving full Admin?, However, I don't want Full admin for a 3rd party for obvious reasons, although the device
is on a VLAN for segregation outbound to the WAN for Internet access only. I would have to Wipe the Machine if I ever wanted to re-connect it for any reason to the intranet LAN.

Any feedback to guide me would be a good help, as I can't fire off these project tasks to test if changes made are working or not or indeed re-start any failed jobs.

Looks like your machine just got two tasks after you posted.

This is a Core 2 Duo running Windows XP with 4gb RAM total and 2.5Gb RAM available to Boinc
Is it able to run any of the current size tasks at all?
